Gene Waldroop

From the King County Journal (Bellevue, WA), February 28, 2005:

      Gene Allen Waldroop of Federal Way died Jan. 9, 2005, in Auburn. He was 61.
      Born Oct. 6, 1943, in Sedro Woolley, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War and married Anna Long in 1964 in Bothell. He lived in Kent from 1970 to 1975 and in Federal Way for 25 years.
     Mr. Waldroop worked in jewelry sales for more than 35 years. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, the Mariners and barbecuing.
      He is survived by his wife, Anna Waldroop of Federal Way; son Jim Waldroop of Puyallup; daughter Staci Abison of Portland, Ore.; brothers Bill Waldroop of Auburn; sister Virginia Rasmussen of Burlington; and five grandchildren.
     A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Marlatt Funeral Home in Kent. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley.
     Memorials may be made to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
